I am so happy you are here!

I’m Alex Smith (she/her), a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California (LMFT #139164), Illinois (#166001403), and Missouri (#2024037343).

I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families throughout the perinatal period (pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum) and beyond. I also specialize in working with autistic and highly sensitive parents.

My approach is deeply rooted in systemic models and attachment-based approaches, allowing me to provide support that considers the unique challenges and strengths of individuals within their relationships, families-of-origin, environments, and cultural influences.

In our sessions, I draw from a range of evidence-based therapy modalities, including IFS (Internal Family Systems), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness practices, somatic work, and self-compassion work, to help you navigate the complexities of parenthood, neurodiversity, and self-discovery. I am here to provide a compassionate and affirming space where you can explore your innermost thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey of self-exploration and growth, and my goal is to empower you to define and pursue your own unique path towards fulfillment and well-being. Together, we will uncover the layers of conditioning, trauma, and obstacles that may be holding you back, and cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and self-compassion along the way.

I am deeply committed to creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and respect, where you feel heard, valued, and supported every step of the way. My ultimate aim is to help you lead a life that is authentic, meaningful, and in alignment with your deepest values and aspirations.

I look forward to embarking on this transformative journey with you and providing the support you need to thrive as your most authentic Self!
